Call for High School Race Director

The Guam Kayak and Canoe Federation (GKCF) is preparing for the upcoming Kareran Galaide 4th Quarter High School Paddling Season. We are currently seeking a Race Director to help organize and oversee this year’s high school paddling races.

The Race Director will be responsible for coordinating race-day operations, schedules, course layouts, safety protocols, volunteers, and race results, while working closely with GKCF leadership and high school coaches to ensure a successful and well-run season.

This position offers $2,500 in compensation for service throughout the season. Individuals with experience in paddling events, sports coordination, or volunteer leadership are encouraged to apply.

Matapang Beach Clean Up

Calling All Teams:

Matapang Beach Clean Up

Sat January 17 6 am

With ALL The canoes at Matapang Beach we are asking at least 5-10 from each team, not club, to come and assist in the beach cleanup. We will be organizing canoes , cutting branches around the showers and container, cutting grass all around, organizing canoes, picking up trash.

We are seeking:

-bush cutters/lawn mowers

-branch cutters/machete

-blowers

-trash bags

-protective gloves

-carts to move canoes

Let’s work together to make our Playground nice and clean.

Nihi Ta Poksai! Famagu'on Galaide

Join us from 12/22 -12/31 for our Nihi Ta Poksai, a paddling camp for beginners ages 11 to 17 year olds. Support Poksai Canoe Club, enjoy a lei-making clinic, charcuterie cup, and two drinks at the Terraza at Two Lovers Point. $40.00 per person for classes at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Proceeds will benefit Poksai Canoe Club for the Micronesian Cup in Palau!
